Job Description

IntroductionAs an Application Developer, you will lead IBM into the future by translating system requirements into the design and development of customized systems in an agile environment. Come to IBM and make a global impact!Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Network service specialist, you will be responsible for recovering provisioning failures and will be the first point of contact for any provisioning related issues. The engineer must review each provisioning request / incident and plan the activities with minimal impact to customer environmentResponsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing method of procedure for any configuration changes, and follow Change Management procedures
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve any hardware, software or configuration related incidents observed on any equipment across network
  • Firewall and VPN troubleshooting and maintenance issues
  • Responsible for leading any planned schedule maintenance activities
  • Lead any incident calls with OEM technical support and provide any inputs required for restoration
  • Maintain High Availability and Clustered firewall environments for customers using Check Point High Availability.
  • Managing Check Point Smart Console Dashboard, IDS/ IPS Threat Monitoring and Tuning on Smart Console
  • Manage corporate Checkpoint Firewall implementing security rules and mitigating network attacks
  • Responsible for resolving the issues from the company and/or vendor documented resolutions
  • Resolve Customer Escalations, act as a key SPOC for L3 Incidents
  • Provide Support for VPN client Infrastructure
  • Policy/ Signature Reinforcement based on the requirement and alert trend
  • Ability to work in 24X7 environment and experience in handling provisioning related issues
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in IT domain
  • Hands on skills in configure, administer, and document firewall infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge on working with Palo Alto/ Checkpoint / CIsco / Fortigate Firewall /Juniper
  • Proven Knowledge of IPS Software blades and others
  • Knowledge of network protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, VLAN, TCP/IP, etc.)
  • Validated knowledge of Log analysis and correlation of Monthly reports
  • Understanding on creating Signatures and Traps to analyze traffic pattern
  • Familiar with Checkpoint models, capabilities, and architectures
  • Supply data on resolvable firewall issues to the vendor Technical Assistance Centres (TAC) and, with assistance from the vendor technicians, advance towards full resolution of the issues and documentation of the process
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Good Knowledge and working experience on Cisco, Palo Alto Security Products (Firewall & IPS) is an added advantage
  • You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies
